To leave your sewing bits & bobbins out and walk away to a table full of delicious kai prepared for you?
To sew and yap, sit back and unpick in the sun and yap some more?
To be uplifted and inspired by the people and projects around you?
That's us making creative plans, making creative pals, and reconnecting to our creative selves on this weekend together :-)
For a long time I have heard the requests from afar and I knew I needed to try make my workshops and sewcials more accessible for folks who live further afield. So what better than an all-in fab, fun, weekend away? Finally I am ready to make the magic happen for myself, for you, for us all to soak up and enjoy.
When I stumbled across the Sea Esta Camp when I was in Waihi beach a year ago, I thought holy smokes what a vibrant, inspiring, funky, & creative space I can already see smiles, laughter, empowerment, and so much awesome colourful fabric being turned into magic right here. There's a classic camp dining room, lounging rooms, giant games room, gardens, lawn, brazier and those classic big wooden bunks to nestle into (BYO sleeping bag, or lush linens, up to you).
Accomodation will be just 2 people per room, but if you're a group of 4 you can bunk together. Please let me know the names of your group if you have a friend attending that you'd like to room with.
I've booked Emily as our camp cook, she's my all time favourite foodie, home grower, fermenter, sourdough master and all round wholesome catering dream. She will be feeding us all weekend so you can leave that mental load at home and sit back, relax, stitch, create, and indulge. All kai will be vegetarian and we welcome any further dietary requirements/allergies.
PROGRAMME:
~ Friday 09th May arrive anytime from 4pm ~ Meet your bunk room buddy, set up your sewing station in the games room, and graze a mexican fiesta dinner. Warm up sewing activities will set the scene for us all to connect and kick off our creativity.
~ Saturday 10th May ~ Sew all day to your hearts content in the giant games-room-turned-craft-room. There's outdoor spaces and extra lounges for quiet break spaces if you need it, and the beach is just across the road. You'll have access to tables, irons, tools, textbooks, and oodles of scrap fabrics from my studio too. Breakfast, lunch, dinner & sewing snacks included.
~ Sunday 11th May ~ We have the morning to finish our sewing projects, sleep in or get up as early as you like. We'll workshop outfit photography/poses as we take some fun #MeMadeMay outfit pics.Then pack up after lunch and all drive safely home. Breakfast, lunch & sewing snacks included.
Optional extras available for you:
1. A trip to the local opshop Saturday morning.
2. Beach walk and #take3forthesea plastic pickup.
3. Chair yoga & massage balls to relieve any specific sewing posture pains
4. Smores on the brazier in the evening
There is an option on this listing for deposit payment only if that's your preference to pay in partial payments. I will follow up all orders with more details, your what-to-bring list and you will have an opportunity to clarify any dietary requirements and sewing project ideas. All remaining payments will be due by the end of April.
